Docents
and keepers at the National Zoo (DC) passed out tissue paper flowers
with a mother's day card attached with information about how human
mothers can help orangutan mothers by checking their grocery items
for palm oil. They passed out 400 flowers in 90 minutes to mothers
visiting the orangutans!

Milwaukee
County Zoo had free showings of the movie GREEN,
sold books, greeting cards, and rafle tickets. More photos

Forest
School 101 kids took part in the Mothers Day Campaign.The
Trillium Roots & Shoots group in Oregon, founded by Johanna
& Lainie (along with their mom Kari), had a bunch of great activities!

This
group put together fun interactives and displays including a big fuzzy
orangutan arm measure that also gave big orange hugs. They had a "put
the orangutans back in the forest" banner, sold beautiful note
cards designed by the kids, and had a beautiful custom photo taking
cutout, as well as plenty of awareness materials.

Allie,
President of the Chico Chapter of Forest School 101, is a true
orangutan champion! She has set up tables at a local eco-fair,
at an endangered species fair, pioneered a letter writing campaign,
held an awareness day at Sacramento Zoo with her Marigold Roots
& Shoots Club...and much more!
